A Gift for Capturing Beauty

My husband has a true gift for finding beauty in unexpected places. This talent is particularly obvious in Matt's photography. He takes his camera and tripod almost everywhere we go for fun, and I'm almost always astonished when we return and I look through his pictures. He's seen things I never noticed, or taken a shot of something that I thought was mundane or even ugly. But he's managed to capture the scenes so that they are evocative and stunning.

So now, when we travel far or near and Matt wants to stop and take some photos (and he always does), I've learned to be patient and appreciate the time it takes for him to set up his shot. It's helped me to see things in new ways too. And I realize that photography is not only a wonderful form of creative self-expression for Matt, but also that his talent often results in some incredible, unexpected souvenirs from our adventures together. << Go back to previous page
